Our values
01
Karate is more than just technique – it is a path on which character, attitude and community grow. In our dojo, we live by core values that shape our training and our interactions with one another.
Respect
Respect for your partner, your teacher and yourself. Respect begins within and is demonstrated in our interactions with one another.
Self-control
Self-control is the foundation of true strength. Control over oneself makes all the difference.
Mindfulness & Concentration
Attention to the moment – in training and in everyday life. Focus creates clarity and balance.
community
From the first step to mastery: we walk the path together. Community is our foundation – it connects, shapes and supports us.
Our origins – Yuishinkan GOJU-Ryu
02
We practise the traditional GOJU-Ryu style, as brought to Europe by Grand Master
Fritz Nöpel (10th Dan). The style combines hard (GO) and soft (JU) techniques, symbolising the balance between strength and flexibility.
Our Yuishinkan style, founded by Master Tomoharu Kisaki in Japan, places
particular emphasis on realistic defence, correct technique and the inner attitude of the karateka. Through Fritz Nöpel, a direct student of Kisaki, these principles have also become deeply rooted in our club.
Founder Yuishinkan
(* 1921; †1996)
Kisaki was a student of ChĹŤjun Miyagi and his successor Gogen Yamaguchi. He founded the Yuishinkan Dojo in Osaka, Japan, in 1954.
